After a long hiatus, Gauntlet II for Atari 5200 is finally complete. This new build improves a lot of the things that bugged me about the first one, and it will be offered as a ROM directly on MeanHamster.com for the first time.
New for Gauntlet II
- Smoother scrolling
- New title screen
- More and random levels, with 40+ layouts
- Teleporters
- Stun tiles
- Better audio and transition effects, including stairs sampled sound while rotating the sprite at the same time
- Health closer to the arcade, starting at 2000 and ticking down one health per second
- Better monster generation and chasing
ROM release first
For the first time, Mean Hamster will offer the ROM directly on this site. We are also looking for a partner to create the physical cartridge. Stay tuned here for updates.
