The free 8086/8088 edition of HamsterOS is ready in 720K and 360K images. It includes a 640×200 desktop, cooperative multitasking, Task Manager, FreeDOS, programs, and games.

Beta 3 is build .77.12. It adds multitasking, new video modes, better hardware support, HamChat 0.6.3, printing, more audio formats, and a new version of HCommand.

Beta 2 adds HamChat, HamShare, faster graphics and disk access, broader real-hardware support, a more useful Task Manager, and a safer hard-disk upgrade path.

HamsterOS now includes the free/Plus-capable HamNet browser. Hamster Extras remains a separate collection of larger apps and the full updater.

Atari Blockade, Super Attack Battle, and Scary Mansion 3D+ are now available as ROMs in the Mean Hamster Store.

Mean Hamster Software is bringing Solo Dragon to Atari 5200 with music, punches, kicks, 14 scenes, and plenty of action.

Tom's Hardware covered HamsterOS as a 32-bit GUI operating system that fits on a single 1.44 MB floppy for 386-era hardware.

Hackaday and Tom's Hardware featured HamsterOS, Mean Hamster's floppy-first 32-bit graphical desktop OS for 386-class PCs and newer. The project has continued forward with VM86 DOS, Help, HamsterWrite, shared fonts, and dynamic drives.

HamsterWeazle downloads live at Mean Hamster. Windows v1.5.3 adds explicit READ image-container choices, with Mac builds continuing at v1.4.8 until the next package refresh.

HamsterWeazle is a clean GUI for reading and writing floppy disks with the GreaseWeazle hardware adapter. Downloads now live on the Mean Hamster website.

HamsterOS is now a full floppy-first 32-bit desktop OS for 386/486-class PCs, with a managed GUI, external apps, Help, HamsterWrite, VM86 DOS launching, dynamic ATA/CD-ROM drives, SoundBlaster audio, and a bootable hard-disk install path.
